Nga kontinenti i madh amerikan, me gjurmë të thella besimi dhe përkushtimi, ngjitet në fronin e Shën Pjetrit një njeri i përulësisë, i përkushtimit misionar dhe i urtësisë moderne, për ta udhëhequr Kishën në kohët e trazimeve globale e kërkimit të paqes.

Shpallja e Shenjtërisë së Tij, Papa Robert Prevost, si Papa i parë amerikan në historinë e Kishës Katolike, shënon një kapitull të ri dhe frymëzues në udhëheqjen shpirtërore të botës.

Për ne shqiptarët, ky moment merr një kuptim të veçantë. Ne, që kemi dhënë dy Papë në historinë e lavdishme të Selisë së Shenjtë – Papa Klementi XI (Albani) dhe Papa Gjon IV – e ndjejmë shpalljen e Papa Prevost si një thirrje për bashkëjetesë, dialog ndërfetar dhe përforcim të urave që na lidhin me qytetërimin perëndimor dhe me Vatikanin, si zë i paqes dhe i vlerave universale.

Bota shqiptare, në trojet e veta dhe në diasporë, është dëshmi e gjallë e bashkëjetesës ndërfetare dhe e qëndrueshmërisë shpirtërore përmes kohëve të errëta.
